Prospect Place
Cnr Third Avenue & Prince Street, Blacktown

Summary
Project Completion: 2002
Building Area: 3,200m2
Project Value: More than $8,900,000
The Area
Blacktown City is located approximately 35km from Sydney on the Cumberland Plain in the heart of Western Sydney not far from Baulkham Hills. Large-scale urban development has contributed to Blacktown's continued population growth and to the development of new estate areas. It’s actually the most populous City in New South Wales! Third Avenue like many other Blacktown locations encompasses a mix of older established areas and new developing, small commercial/bulky goods precincts. It’s well serviced by public transport and provides good access to major arterial roads.
Innovative Solution
Prospect Credit Union (PCU) approached Capital Corporation to identify a new location for the headquarters of their expanding organisation. Of several options submitted, the group preferred the Third Avenue, Blacktown proposal. However, Board approval was subject to the sale of the existing premises in Parramatta. Capital Corporation provided the ideal solution for their client– they purchased PCU’s Parramatta building, which was later refurbished and sold.
The Property
This is a commercial development comprising 2 floors of office and retail with undercover, secure parking. It’s within walking distance to Blacktown Station.
Road access is ideal with quick access to the M4 and M2 motorways. Commercial suites range in size from 50m2 to 617m2 with Prospect Credit Union the main tenant occupying 2 levels of the building. A cafe/restaurant is also located on-site. The building was constructed of concrete pre-cast panels, with profiled steel roof sheeting, powder-coated aluminium windows and bitumen paving, with concrete kerbs to the car-parking areas.
